Stella's Best Friends

Along the way, Stell's made a bunch of friends. Here are some of her extra special ones.

German Shepherd Leto

Leto was Stella's first bud and big sister. Leto accepted Stella like she belonged there from day one. Although Stella had excellent manners and behaved well, Leto was good about showing Stella the ropes and explaining to her how patience would eventually get her anything and everything she wanted.

Bill the Cat

Bill, the wonder cat. Wasn't quite sure about Stella in the beginning, and in fact spent quite a bit of time glaring down at here from atop a china hutch or cupboard tops. After a while, though, he grew to tolerate and love her. He was quite a guy. Whenever they were separated they were pretty nonchalant about it. But when Stella would come in the house, she and Bill had pretty long conversations about who did what, who went where, and who ate what.

Bichon Friese Maggie

Maggie taught Stella about the finer points about carpet crumb retrieval. Now Stella scours the carpet for treat tidbits and keeps things much tidier around the house! We owe you one, Maggie.

Bichon Friese Libby

Libby used to stay pretty wide of Stella and kept one eye open at all times in case she came anywhere near. Now she's much better and knows that Stella's just an old friendly furball. Of course, this could all stem from their first meeting: When she was just a puppy, Libby was over playing in our backyard with her sister Maggie. All of a sudden, here comes Stella bounding out of the house and bearing down on them like meteor. Darn near scared Libby to death. Maggie, on the other hand, was up for some fun.

Nikki the Cutie Pie

Nikki the wild and child cutie pie and Stella are still buds after all these years. It's a good relationship when the praise is evenly distributed. But watch out otherwise! And if the hose comes out - Stella stand back because Nikki loves to play in the water and hose time is crazy fun.

Tiny Sophia

Sophia, who is about the size of one of Stella's paws, thinks Stella walks on water. When she finds out that she's coming over to Stella's house, she goes bonkers. And then when she gets here, the first thing she does is let Stella knows she's boss by rolling over on her back and scrunching, and then once that's all squared away, the fun begins.

Axel, Axel, Axel, whose theme in life is "No Bounderies", loves Stella. Axel and Maddie arrived and came to live at Stella's house when they were just days old. Having never known a fear of dogs, they have no fear of Stella. And Stella, bless her little beardie heart, treats them well and let's them nuzzle her and be close.

Maddie and Axel are close, but Maddie worships the ground Stella plops on. She follows Stella through the house, gets nervous when she's gone, and loves to lay next to her wherever she may be. As for Stella, well that bearded collie loves the little black cat just as well.
